Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Image Enhancement: Correcting colors, adjusting lighting, balancing exposure (often using HDR techniques), and improving sharpness to make properties look their best.
- Quality Control: Maintaining consistent quality and branding across high volumes of images submitted by various photographers.
- Advanced Retouching: Performing advanced edits like removing unwanted objects (e.g., power lines, clutter), correcting perspective, and potentially adding virtual staging elements.
- Team Management & Collaboration: Managing a team of editors, communicating effectively with photographers and real estate agents to clarify expectations, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Workflow Optimization: Implementing efficient workflows and leveraging the latest software, including AI editing tools, to streamline the editing process.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and HDR processing software like Aurora HDR or Photomatix.
- Strong Visual Eye: An excellent eye for detail, composition, and real estate photography standards to ensure every image is market-ready.
- Experience: A degree in photography or visual arts is helpful, but significant experience in the field is essential. Many senior roles require several years of relevant experience.
- Organizational & Time Management Skills: The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines for property listings is crucial.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for providing clear feedback to team members and working closely with clients and photographers.
- Ethical Understanding: An awareness of the legal and ethical guidelines in real estate photo editing to avoid misrepresenting a property.
- Knowledge of current AI / ML photo editors like Imagen, AutoHDR, Autoenhance, Gemini, etc.
